Stats:
• 130 podfics released - 58 MORE than last year!!! !!!! I'm stunned. I honestly thought that I hadn't podficced very much. Like last year several of these were in series. And interestingly most of these were done for a challange or comm of some sort.
• Total Time: 255:59:38 okay. I think I made a decent showing *wry*
- Longest Podfic: Secrets (no surprise) (though I did a good amount that were long this year. 6 over 10 hours)
- Shortest Podfic: PodfiDIC Seed 1: Eliot and Hardison (all the podfiDIC ones are short)
Fandoms: I podficced in 40 different fandoms this year! (wow that's a lot!)
- Dragon Age: Inquisition (27 - ahhhhh DA:I how have you taken over my life. I honestly thought YYH was going to be top but DA:I came through)
- Yu Yu Hakusho (24 - all but 2 of these are part of the BD/GO series. but they're all great)
- Naruto (13 - not surprising as that I continued to me sucked into the depths of this fandom for most of the year)
- Fairy Tail (13 - YAY!!! though sadly all of these were written by myself or Syr and most were in one series)
- So You Think You Can Dance (12 - all of these are fusions written by Syr and I - 11 are in one series)
- Jupiter Ascending (8 - this is actually not as many as I thought I had of this. huh.)
- RWBY (7 - and if I'm right 6 are oral not!fics and one is a pod_together crossover)
- Leverage (6 - this is slightly surprising. but awesome!)
- Harry Potter (5 - not a high number but this includes my biggest podfic to the time is pretty high up there)
- Person 4 (4 - YAY!! though once again all of these were written by myself or Syr. Though these do include 2 or our pod_together projects which are awesome)
- Check Please! (3 - the 2 PodfiDIC ones and a Pod_together project)
- Fullmetal Alchemist (3 - 2 of these were me FINALLY finishing the demon alchemist series. FINALLY)
- Avatar: The Last Airbender (3 - 1 series that I honestly think of as a single fic)
- MCU (3 - 2 were for Awesome Ladies and 1 was a MASSIVE multi-voice)
- Teen Wolf (2 - HA! only 2 because I'm counting the Remix of podfiDIC as a seperate fic (which it is)
- Game of Thrones (2 - same deal. though not for lack of trying. I did ask permission for a bunch of GoT fics this year *pout*)

- Smallville (1 - oh gosh. finally recorded something in this fandom and it was a crossover of course)
- Yu-Gi-Oh (1 - SUCH AN OLD FANDOM! and I found the strangest crossover too)
- Star Wars (1 - massive crossover with Kenshin which is SO GOOD)
- Ruroni Kenshin (1 - crossover with star wars. Didn't even realise that I was releasing it the same time as the new movie was coming out)
• The Best Podfic I made this year: This is so hard! -_- I produced a lot of podfic and this year (unlike last year) nothing stands out a hands down THE BEST. I think I'm going to go with Diplomatic Relations. But that's really just because I have gotten an overwhelming number of comments about the perfectness of Lee's voice. (which I was so unsure of when I first was recording)
• Most Popular: Once again: how do you even judge that? AO3 kudos wise, top of 2015 is actually a multi-voice for Pod_Together 101.3 The Swell but my top solo one is Secrets. This doesn't actually surprise me at all. Comments (on AO3) also say that Secrets is the most popular.
• Most Underappreciated: For size of fandom and the normal response podfic gets I'd say most of my podfics get way more appreciation than I normally expect. That being said. I would love to see Syr and I's Pod_Together projects get more of a response in general. I think that Girls, Personas, and Humanity's Collective Unconscious is fantastic and so is So You Think You Can Dance Vale & Fiore
• My Favorite: As I've said before, this changes every time I post something. Right now it has to be Shadows in Starlight. It is 150k and I did it accidentally in 9 days (recording AND editing)!! And it was because I just couldn't stop reading it. I just kept wanting to experience the text! That never happens to me! Podfics normally get only a single beta listen (and sometimes I don't even pay that much attention to it) and this was was the same but not because I didn't want to but because I had to force myself not to listen to it again and just submit it! SO Good!!
• Most difficult to make: This was definitely Inclined to Explore. Don't get me wrong, I love the finished product of this. However, HOWEVER, this project was terrible from the get go. The author responded to my standard form letter permission request with a paragraph about how they "read their fics out loud with voices" and were "really picky" and asked to hear my character voices. I had none at the time. I hadn't recorded a single DA:I podfic yet. I said I'd link when I got them and I did. I got a reply that looked like the author was drunk but I took to mean yes. I should have wondered from the reply about the author's writing level, but no I just wrote it off as weird. But. Wow. The text of this fic is a M E S S. Sentences go unfinished, metaphors are atrocious, the word "a" is routinely replaced with "and" and more. It was horrible to record. Just awful. But again, the finished product is really good. It is what the text should be, honestly.
• .Most “ah ha ha I can’t believe I’m doing this”? This is the weirdest category. I should probably delete it because I never have anything to say. 2 podfics kinda sorta fit. The first is john: get the last word [Theatripod] because I was DIRECTING what was basically 2 hours of porn. I was a mess during the live performance when nothing seemed to go the was I wanted it to (technology wise. the performances was amazing). Second is Exchange Student which is more because WTF is even WITH a Smallville/Yu-Gi-Oh crossover. And one that is mostly boarding school porn too! and since when am I back in Yu-Gi-Oh fandom anyway??
• Most fun to make? Definitely So You Think You Can Dance: Fiore. Syr and I worked so hard on this and it turned out SO WELL!!! It was just amazing every step of the way. I can't believe we never missed a week of releasing it.
• Was there one that didn’t turn out the way you wanted? Ah. This. This is definitely the entire The Life and Times of a Shinobi Den Mother series. I love this series. So. Much. and then I tried to podfic it and it just didn't work. I actually recorded and edited this series then started beta listening and hated it. It was like I was rushing the entire thing. So I re-recorded it all. ALL OF IT. and I still am not super fond of how it came out. which sucks because I really wanted to be able to listen to this.
• Biggest learning experience: Mala Suledin Nadas purely on the fact that I learned never to ask permission for a work still in progress. I asked when it had less than 30 chapters. It is supposedly ending at 200. While it is the most delightful thing Ive ever podficced, it is also very frustrating.
• Favourite Cover Art: Two answers for this because one answer is kinda the same as last year. I think my true favourite cover is for A Good Offense it is just so well composed. But I mentioned it last year (because my favourite last year was the prequel The Best Defense's cover and I had already made this one too). So for fully this year, I think it is Shadows in Starlight. I love how stark it is and yet how less I got it to work. I also love a lot of my dragon age covers but that is more the work of the art than what I did to it.
• Other Stuff: It feels like most of the stuff I recorded this year I recorded for various challenges or comms. And if it wasn't for one of those, it was a series. I'm super happy I finished the demon alchemist series. I think that was my longest WiP series I 've ever had (only?). I did do pod_together with another group this year (as well as Syr) and it went well! So that was nice. Also, I think Syr and I managed to hit every pod_together (& pt_lightning) challenge this year! Go us! We also posted our first WiP series, So You Think You can Dance: Fiore which was a massive effort of planning and making sure we were on task all the time. I also did a number of Oral Not!fic collabs with various people and that went awesomely! I podficced something I beta'd. And my crowning achievement, I directed a Theatripod production. That went well. Except that it and my synchro competitions kept being on the same day so I botched planning there.
• Goals from last year?
- first and main goal is to KEEP PODFICCING FUN. I've had moments in the past year when it felt like a job. NO MORE OF THAT This is an ongoing goal. Maybe I'll copy it to this year just to remind myself. I actually think I did pretty well. The only thing I did that I didn't whole heartedly enjoy was Secrets and even that was worth it in the end.
- I got permission to podfic one of my favourite Harry Potter fics (400k) so I want to do that. Speaking of. Well. That went. It is done and I now never have to look at it again. I am so sorry self.
- but first I have to finish the Best Defense series. (and a couple of other projects that I have lying around) I think one of those projects was demon alchemist which didn't get done until much later but they all got done!
- also I want to podfic a couple of Maldoror fics. This will be interesting b/c they aren't around any more so permission is weird. I have finished 3 of the 4 Maldoror fics I wanted to do (and the fourth is on the docket for this year). The permission thing hasn't been a problem and I kinda like that I'm setting a precedent for posting podfic of someone who has left fandom.
- most pressingly, I'm going to direct a Theatripod project! This will be awesome. However, my author hasn't gotten back to me :S Author got back to me and was MOST POSITIVE! and the whole thing turned out really well. We got to have a live performance and everything! (as stressful as that was for me!)
- and a semi-goal (it's a goal. I just don't want to hold myself to it) is to podfic ONE MILLION words for either Epic Podfic big Bang or Podfic Big Bang this year) This did not happen. Partially because it interfered with the first (and most important) goal and secondly because Secrets was such an incredible drag to record. Maybe this year.
• What’s next? Do you have any podfic goals for next year?
- first and main goal is to KEEP PODFICCING FUN.
- record Freeport
- finish Mala Suledin Nadas if at all possible (please let it end)
- again semi-goal: ONE MILLION WORDS for a challenge
- last and probably most important goal: I want to start doing voice work professionally. So get on that self!

- Gundam Wing (1 - only one but considering it was 300k I feel like this fandom made a fine showing)
- Kingdom Hearts (1 - crossover with Yu Yu Hakusho)
- Smallville (1 - oh gosh. finally recorded something in this fandom and it was a crossover of course)
- Yu-Gi-Oh (1 - SUCH AN OLD FANDOM! and I found the strangest crossover too)
- Star Wars (1 - massive crossover with Kenshin which is SO GOOD)
- Ruroni Kenshin (1 - crossover with star wars. Didn't even realise that I was releasing it the same time as the new movie was coming out)
• The Best Podfic I made this year: This is so hard! -_- I produced a lot of podfic and this year (unlike last year) nothing stands out a hands down THE BEST. I think I'm going to go with Diplomatic Relations. But that's really just because I have gotten an overwhelming number of comments about the perfectness of Lee's voice. (which I was so unsure of when I first was recording)
• Most Popular: Once again: how do you even judge that? AO3 kudos wise, top of 2015 is actually a multi-voice for Pod_Together 101.3 The Swell but my top solo one is Secrets. This doesn't actually surprise me at all. Comments (on AO3) also say that Secrets is the most popular.
• Most Underappreciated: For size of fandom and the normal response podfic gets I'd say most of my podfics get way more appreciation than I normally expect. That being said. I would love to see Syr and I's Pod_Together projects get more of a response in general. I think that Girls, Personas, and Humanity's Collective Unconscious is fantastic and so is So You Think You Can Dance Vale & Fiore
• My Favorite: As I've said before, this changes every time I post something. Right now it has to be Shadows in Starlight. It is 150k and I did it accidentally in 9 days (recording AND editing)!! And it was because I just couldn't stop reading it. I just kept wanting to experience the text! That never happens to me! Podfics normally get only a single beta listen (and sometimes I don't even pay that much attention to it) and this was was the same but not because I didn't want to but because I had to force myself not to listen to it again and just submit it! SO Good!!
• Most difficult to make: This was definitely Inclined to Explore. Don't get me wrong, I love the finished product of this. However, HOWEVER, this project was terrible from the get go. The author responded to my standard form letter permission request with a paragraph about how they "read their fics out loud with voices" and were "really picky" and asked to hear my character voices. I had none at the time. I hadn't recorded a single DA:I podfic yet. I said I'd link when I got them and I did. I got a reply that looked like the author was drunk but I took to mean yes. I should have wondered from the reply about the author's writing level, but no I just wrote it off as weird. But. Wow. The text of this fic is a M E S S. Sentences go unfinished, metaphors are atrocious, the word "a" is routinely replaced with "and" and more. It was horrible to record. Just awful. But again, the finished product is really good. It is what the text should be, honestly.
• .Most “ah ha ha I can’t believe I’m doing this”? This is the weirdest category. I should probably delete it because I never have anything to say. 2 podfics kinda sorta fit. The first is john: get the last word [Theatripod] because I was DIRECTING what was basically 2 hours of porn. I was a mess during the live performance when nothing seemed to go the was I wanted it to (technology wise. the performances was amazing). Second is Exchange Student which is more because WTF is even WITH a Smallville/Yu-Gi-Oh crossover. And one that is mostly boarding school porn too! and since when am I back in Yu-Gi-Oh fandom anyway??
• Most fun to make? Definitely So You Think You Can Dance: Fiore. Syr and I worked so hard on this and it turned out SO WELL!!! It was just amazing every step of the way. I can't believe we never missed a week of releasing it.
• Was there one that didn’t turn out the way you wanted? Ah. This. This is definitely the entire The Life and Times of a Shinobi Den Mother series. I love this series. So. Much. and then I tried to podfic it and it just didn't work. I actually recorded and edited this series then started beta listening and hated it. It was like I was rushing the entire thing. So I re-recorded it all. ALL OF IT. and I still am not super fond of how it came out. which sucks because I really wanted to be able to listen to this.
• Biggest learning experience: Mala Suledin Nadas purely on the fact that I learned never to ask permission for a work still in progress. I asked when it had less than 30 chapters. It is supposedly ending at 200. While it is the most delightful thing Ive ever podficced, it is also very frustrating.
• Favourite Cover Art: Two answers for this because one answer is kinda the same as last year. I think my true favourite cover is for A Good Offense it is just so well composed. But I mentioned it last year (because my favourite last year was the prequel The Best Defense's cover and I had already made this one too). So for fully this year, I think it is Shadows in Starlight. I love how stark it is and yet how less I got it to work. I also love a lot of my dragon age covers but that is more the work of the art than what I did to it.
• Other Stuff: It feels like most of the stuff I recorded this year I recorded for various challenges or comms. And if it wasn't for one of those, it was a series. I'm super happy I finished the demon alchemist series. I think that was my longest WiP series I 've ever had (only?). I did do pod_together with another group this year (as well as Syr) and it went well! So that was nice. Also, I think Syr and I managed to hit every pod_together (& pt_lightning) challenge this year! Go us! We also posted our first WiP series, So You Think You can Dance: Fiore which was a massive effort of planning and making sure we were on task all the time. I also did a number of Oral Not!fic collabs with various people and that went awesomely! I podficced something I beta'd. And my crowning achievement, I directed a Theatripod production. That went well. Except that it and my synchro competitions kept being on the same day so I botched planning there.
• Goals from last year?
- first and main goal is to KEEP PODFICCING FUN. I've had moments in the past year when it felt like a job. NO MORE OF THAT This is an ongoing goal. Maybe I'll copy it to this year just to remind myself. I actually think I did pretty well. The only thing I did that I didn't whole heartedly enjoy was Secrets and even that was worth it in the end.
- I got permission to podfic one of my favourite Harry Potter fics (400k) so I want to do that. Speaking of. Well. That went. It is done and I now never have to look at it again. I am so sorry self.
- but first I have to finish the Best Defense series. (and a couple of other projects that I have lying around) I think one of those projects was demon alchemist which didn't get done until much later but they all got done!
- also I want to podfic a couple of Maldoror fics. This will be interesting b/c they aren't around any more so permission is weird. I have finished 3 of the 4 Maldoror fics I wanted to do (and the fourth is on the docket for this year). The permission thing hasn't been a problem and I kinda like that I'm setting a precedent for posting podfic of someone who has left fandom.
- most pressingly, I'm going to direct a Theatripod project! This will be awesome. However, my author hasn't gotten back to me :S Author got back to me and was MOST POSITIVE! and the whole thing turned out really well. We got to have a live performance and everything! (as stressful as that was for me!)
- and a semi-goal (it's a goal. I just don't want to hold myself to it) is to podfic ONE MILLION words for either Epic Podfic big Bang or Podfic Big Bang this year) This did not happen. Partially because it interfered with the first (and most important) goal and secondly because Secrets was such an incredible drag to record. Maybe this year.
