- [in this session Warren could not make it. But a friend of mine was in town at the time and wanted to try DnD so we gave her the part of the elf - she got to make up her character but not the back story. She kept the name Thor!]
- learning how to navigate nature from druid
- journey goes much better
- come upon a battle - attempt to go around (between war fronts)
- area b/t is filled w/ decay (smells/sounds)
- notice large figure many times size on person in battle field - giant man of corpses (no face)
- try to sneak by - doesn't work (all faces of corpses turn to face us )
- try to run - Yue and Thor get further than Uriel and Sharah
- Thor's wild shape is giant Lizard (w/ giant lizard on top) [I think Thor could summon a mount? or a creature to fight and ALSO turn into something. DM gave her a lot of leeway b/c she was only there for one day]
- continue to Gurrenholm --> to castle --> clean up first
- go down to dungeon [if you're wondering how we had free reign of the castle, it was because the elves were very, very happy - enchanted with happiness - made it so nothing got done and we could wander around freely] -->find king and fiancé [Thor's fiancé that is] [the King is the real king of the elven lands. Elf Lord McJimblePants is an imposter.]
- King marries Thor and Sif (fiancé) [Sif is the name of Thor's wife in Norse mythology - in this case Thor is the girl and Sif is the boy. We work the genderbending like no tomorrow. (Remember that Sharah's original character Roth was originally a male orc that was swapped into a female elf's body. S/he got bonuses when she did things that made her feel girly - like wearing a bright yellow sundress; though some of those were negated when s/he ate the hearts of people we killed...] & adopts them & are heirs
- go to throne room (king giggling, human advisor plotting)
- Yue waltzes in giggling & tries to waltz w/ advisor - actually waltzes w/ King [the magic affecting the elves was starting to affect Yue] [I actually adore playing insane characters. Maybe the I'll make another one and she'll be completely mad]
- Sharah kills (assassinates) King (Elf Lord McJimblePants) w/ longspear --> pricking Yue [did you know that Longspears are really, REALLY long???]
- Advisor is mad
- Sharah shoots advisor in stomach [with what I forget] --> bursts open [his stomach] --> crystal inside Shatters
- Portal Opens
- Thor goes to chuck McJimblePants into portal (he disappears)
- Thor gets sucked in
- guards rush in --> diplomacy --> they go get king & Sif [a note on diplomacy: I didn't like it until recently. I find it hard to talk to NPCs. Probably because we don't do a whole lot of talking in character that when I have to I find it difficult. Why am I a bard?]
- King [the real one this time] promises to give us resources and safe passage if we get rid of portal and get Thor back
- attempt to mind speak (hear only every third word) [as a psionic, Uriel can mindspeak almost anything, this is a useful skill to have]
- determine Thor is alive
- we all jump through w/ 10 of finest guards --> FROZEN FUTURE WASTELAND [remember on the timeline. This is apparently what our world looks like 300 years after our characters' original time. very disturbing] [also we are maybe not the type of people to think things through all the time... what with all of us just jumping through the portal - though we did make sure Thor was alive first. I'm not sure but if it had been better we might have stayed...]
- try to get back --> wind blows back (lizard, teleport [- nothing works])
- Sharah uses longspear [did I mention they are REALLY long] to poke through - gets pulled through (dead but revived) [many endurance checks are needed to pass backwards through the portal]
- guard jumps through w/ rope [what we should have done in the first place really...]
- Uriel goes through first (dead but revived)
- Thor goes through (Barkskin + no damage)
- Guards go through (fine)
- Yue goes through (brings rope)
- Thor Storm Spikes the crystal (it shatters a little more --> portal widens)
- Sharah summons spirit bear to push crystal back together --> implodes --> portal implodes
- OLD King [the real one] is grateful and gives is 3 dragon scales
- Thor (Queen) throws party
- Devil appears - has been battling Astral Traveller (keeping distracts) [see we already forgot he had a name]
- we need a Hydra heart
- hydra are beyond orcish lands --> we need heart of queen hydra (hydras are like bees)
- Elves promise passage to Orc lands (w/ special caravan going to aid orcs against Pythion) [this is startling because in our knowledge Orcs and Elves hate each other.]
- [another random note is that the lack of Warren in these notes is not because he is not present. He just rarely talks. He is awesome in battle and helping to decide what to do but those things rarely make it into my notes.]
Character: Thor - elf druid Background: sent from dragon slayer camp to replace the current king of the elves so that the dragon slayers would have a plant on the throne. Her fiancé (Sif) is missing (possibly imprisoned in the elven castle). knows about traveling the wilderness.
